Tonight, the sky lit up. My eyes, my soul, my being is quenched in observance of this awesome site. Words cannot describe the majesty and glory of His design.
Sounds like an amazing red wine or amber ale. Watching the moon turn to a shade of blood-red on September 27, 2015 was a haunting experience. A photo from September 15, 2015, when the moon was a low, waxing crescent, helps to display the contrast.
Last night, we had a wicked storm system rip through our area. I don’t recommend anyone try this at home, but I proceeded to stand out in an open area in the rain and lightning holding a large, metal camera. The lightning was incredible and provided a much better diversion than TV or an iDevice. I’m thankful for these moments. The sky is often a canvas for things even as powerful as lightning. Brings new meaning to the fear of The Lord.
The last few nights we have had amazing art in the sky, provided free of charge. Check these out.
Here are a few more photos to close out the year. The leaves were great this year. A short trip to Eagle Creek Park and a few epic sunsets. Now winter is here, which means lots of gray, cold and possibly a lot of snow. There’s beauty in winter and I look forward to capturing some of it! 🙂
